Abandoned Arizona Dog Track

Photographing abandoned buildings has always fascinated me. Not only do these places have a cool, eery feeling, they usually come with some awesome textures and can be used as backdrops for portraits. I found a great website Ghosts Towns of Arizona that will be my starting point for shooting these weird places in Arizona. Here is the first place I visited, deserted since 1982, an abandoned dog racing track in Black Canyon City. I actually think would be an awesome setting for a unique portrait session!!!

Chandler High School Senior

This was easily one of my favorite sessions as I photographed this Chandler High School senior. Devon has such a chill personality and we were able to hit two locations to match his interests and style. Devon is an aspiring pilot so we scored our own airport hanger (huge thanks to my pilot neighbor) and nailed some pretty awesome shots including getting Devon in the cockpit. I could tell he was really passionate about flying and that someday he will capture that dream. After the hanger we headed to a underpass area where he showed even more passion busting moves on his skateboard. With the sun setting behind him, and freezing him in mid-air, the picture was perfect. I can still remember Devon freaking out when I showed him the skateboard photo on the back of the camera! It was the perfect ending to a great session.
